Revealing Hidden Prop Firm Stats š¤«
Thereās this long-standing belief in the trading world that only 10% of traders pass a prop firm challenge.
But hereās a crazy thought: Where did that stat even come from? Is there any real proof behind it?
Itās been repeated so often and for so long that it feels like one of my grandmotherās secret recipesāpassed down for generations without question.
And like her cooking, no one dares ask, āWait, is this actually the right amount of seasoning?ā
Maybe itās time we ask if this stat still holds any truth.
And, like always, we did the digging for you.
We recently pulled the data from Lark Funding, which has been accumulating for over two years, to try and answer the question of who actually passes these challenges.
Hereās what we found:
While the pass rate can vary dramatically from month to month, the average pass rate can be as low as 6% all the way up to 15%.
Thatās a big range.
But honestly, that 10% pass rate falls right within the middle.
(Maybe thereās a reason my grandmother hasnāt changed her recipe)
But truth be told, unfortunately, this isnāt great news for traders. ā
If 100 traders take a challenge, youāre telling me only 10 will pass?
So, should I just give up? š¢
Well, not exactly.
There might actually be some good news.
The Winners Win Big šø
After a deeper dive, we found that the winners who pass arenāt just walking away with chump changeātheyāre cashing in big.
On average, traders are pulling payouts equivalent to 4% of their accountās starting balance.
Hereās how the numbers stack up:
$5,000 Account Avg Payout = $200
$10,000 Account Avg Payout = $400
$25,000 Account Avg Payout = $1,000
$50,000 Account Avg Payout = $2,000
$100,000 Account Avg Payout = $4,000
$200,000 Account Avg Payout = $8,000
Not bad, right? š
But when you compare that to the cost of the challenge itself, the returns get even juicier.
Payout-To-Challenge Price
$5,000 Account ($75) To Payout = 266% Return
$10,000 Account ($125) To Payout = 320% Return
$25,000 Account ($225) To Payout = 444% Return
$50,000 Account ($325) To Payout = 615% Return
$100,000 Account ($525) To Payout = 761% Return
$200,000 Account To Payout ($1,000) = 800% Return
This proves something that is (hopefully) painfully obvious to you: There is no better opportunity in the trading world right now than prop firms. š
Bottom line: If youāre thinking of going all-in on something, thereās no better option than prop firms. The traders that do and succeed are the ones making mouth-watering returns. š¤¤

To keep the prop firm vibes rolling, just take a look at this recent payout:

Not too shabbyā¦
Letās take an inside look at Trader Simonās stats to better learn what he did:
Account Traded = 3-Step $100,000
Active Trading Days = 7
Days Holding The Account = 27
Trades Placed = 26
Markets Traded = GBPJPY, XAUUSD, EURUSD, GBPUSD
Avg Losing Trade = -$823.00
Avg Winning Trade = $435.22
Avg RR = 0.53
Win Rate = 84.62%
Margin Utilization = 65%
Great Trader, Or Just Lucky? š¬
Letās dive into two major takeaways from Trader Simonās performance.
1/ His 84.62% Win Rate š
This is a stellar number by any standard. But here's the kicker ā his risk-reward ratio is only 0.53.
That means he's risking more than he's earning on each trade, which is like betting on a three-legged horse and hoping it wins the Kentucky Derby.
Essentially, he needs to keep his win rate sky-high to stay profitable because a few losing streaks could eat into his gains quickly.
2/ Large Losses š£ļø
Trader Simonās average losing trade is nearly double his average winning trade.
While this worked for him this time, it means heās 100% reliant on maintaining his high win rate.
Otherwise, this strategy might not be sustainable.
