BREAKING NEWS

🇺🇸 Trump Tariffs Are Back, and This Time They Brought Friends

Trump just slapped 25% tariffs on imports from Japan and South Korea, plus added 13 other countries to his “no-deal, no-mercy” list. Tariffs kick in August 1 unless deals are cut.

Here’s the damage:

  • 🇯🇵 Japan: 25%

  • 🇰🇷 South Korea: 25%

  • 🇱🇦 Laos & 🇲🇲 Myanmar: 40%

  • 🇰🇭 Cambodia, 🇹🇭 Thailand: 36%

  • 🇧🇩 Bangladesh, 🇷🇸 Serbia: 35%

  • Others range 25–32%

Why markets care:

  • Supply chains = bruised

  • Commodities = pricier

  • Equities = spooked

  • Dollar = mixed bag (more on that below)

What to watch:

  • Risk-off alert — equities already sold off Monday.

  • Commodities like copper and crude could jump if global trade slows.

  • Look at JPY & KRW pairs — currency volatility incoming.

If this escalates, we’re not trading tariffs… we’re trading landmines.

🚗 Musk Launches a Political Party, Tesla Stock Crashes 7%

Elon’s starting his own political party—The America Party—and markets responded with a big ol’ “bruh.”

$TSLA dropped nearly 7%, losing $68 billion in market cap on the news.

Why it matters:

  • Investors fear Musk is once again distracted (you know… from running a $700B car company).

  • Tesla already missed delivery expectations and is struggling in China.

  • Musk vs. Trump drama = extra spice no one asked for.

What to watch:

  • TSLA could get punished further if political headlines outweigh car sales.

  • EV sector may follow if investor confidence erodes.

  • If he runs, expect Twitter/X to turn into a political circus and maybe a macro indicator.

I love freedom, but I also love my Tesla. National debt crisis vs Tesla margins? Tough call.

💸 Dollar Has Worst Start to Year Since 1973… And It’s Not Over

The USD is down 10.7% YTD—its worst return since Nixon ditched the gold standard and people thought disco was a good idea.

So what’s going on?

Massive deficits, tariff drama, Fed uncertainty, and a political circus that’s making global investors go, “Yeah… no thanks.” Add in a looming trade war, and the dollar’s starting to look more like a liability than a lifeline.

Central banks are bailing—snapping up 24 tons of gold last month alone. When confidence drops, shiny rocks suddenly become strategic. (My wife calls that “retail therapy.”)

A weak dollar does help U.S. exports, but it also stirs up inflation and raises big questions about long-term trust in American assets.

Here’s what traders should watch:

  • Gold & BTC: Still the go-to safe havens

  • DXY near 100: A break lower could trigger full-blown risk-off

  • Bond yields: Watch for Fed-induced whiplash

Long story short: the dollar isn’t dead, but it’s definitely having a midlife crisis—and your portfolio might get dragged into it.

CRYPTO

🤯 He Turned $15,400 Into $1.1 Billion?

Someone just pulled off the most gangster trade in crypto history—and no, it wasn’t a meme coin degen.

A mystery whale moved 10,000 BTC that had been untouched for 14 years, originally bought for just $15,400. Today? That bag’s worth $1.1 billion.

No leverage. No indicators. Just diamond hands and an ungodly amount of conviction.

The wallet first received the BTC on April 3, 2011—back when Bitcoin was trading around $0.78. Now, it’s part of a 13,982,800% return flex that puts every paper-handed trader (hi, me) to shame.

Why it matters

It’s not just a win for the whale—it’s a masterclass in long-term conviction. When most of the world was still laughing at Bitcoin, this guy said, “nah, I’m good”... and held.

Through Mt. Gox, China bans, bear markets, and yes, even my tweets saying BTC was dead in 2015.

This is what Peter Thiel meant by:

“What do you believe that others don’t?”

And more importantly: Are you betting on it?

That belief could be a 10-year hold or a 10-minute scalp. Doesn’t matter. If you’re just copying the crowd, don’t expect outlier results.

What to watch

  • BTC sentiment: Whale activity = possible supply overhang

  • Altcoins: If BTC moves big, expect spillover

  • Narrative trades: Who’s next to be “early”?

MARKET OVERVIEW

🍿 Tasty Movers & Shakers

$AAPL ( ▼ 0.95% ) Trump’s squad is not feeling Tim Cook right now. Peter Navarro just called him out for dragging his feet on moving Apple production out of China. Translation: Cook’s AirPods might get caught in the crossfire.

$CRWV ( ▲ 6.35% ) CoreWeave just dropped $9B in an all-stock deal to buy Core Scientific.
Why? To boost their AI cloud muscle and level up their data center game.
Not bad for a Jersey startup that used to mine crypto and now mines Nvidia chips.

$GOOGL ( ▲ 0.55% ) Waymo is bringing its robotaxis to Philly—with safety drivers, for now. They’re expanding as Tesla’s Robotaxi already hit the streets in Austin. Still no clear winner in the Lidar vs. Camera war, but one thing’s certain: This beef is less about tech, more about whose self-driving car can ghost us first.

$XAGUSD ( 0.0% ) Silver just hit its highest level in nearly 14 years. Gold’s been hogging the spotlight, but now lil bro is flexing too. At this rate, I’m hoping grandma’s china cabinet comes with a hardware wallet.
