Well, that’s the exact question that one of our traders is asking themselves today.

That’s right.

We’ve had a lot of payouts this week but so far, this is the largest one (so far)

But rather than flexing a payout certificate that is only good for motivation, how did this trader do it?

Did they have insider information? Did they get trained by Nancy Pelosi, the greatest investor of all time?

We doubt it. In fact, it looks like they stuck to the basics and consistently executed their plan.

Here are some stats:

So, what’s the main takeaway?

Again, it always comes back to the inverse correlation between win rate and risk-to-reward.

If you want to win a ton of trades, your average win must be smaller.

Alternatively, if you want huge winners, you’re going to lose a lot more of your trades.

And for both, the only way to make money long-term is to generate a large enough sample size.

AKA, you need to be risk-managed.

If you remember Monday’s email, we spoke about the importance of the Iowa caucus in determining who will run for President.

Well, after Monday, it became a whole lot clearer that there’s likely no path to the GOP nomination if your name isn’t Donald J Trump.

A few highlights:

Vivek garnered just over 7% of the vote. For a candidate as new as him, this alone is impressive, but it was not the shock that he was looking for. He’s now withdrawn himself from the race and will be campaigning with Trump. Can anyone say Vice President? 👀
Nicki Haley finished third but gave a speech as if she had won.
The remaining candidates are now off to New Hampshire, where they’ll vote on January 23rd.
The market didn’t move. It’s still too early for these events to be a significant enough catalyst.

TLDR:

Okay, so there’s no new promo.
