BREAKING NEWS

πŸ“‰ πŸ’΅ Trump Wants His Face On A $250 Bill. There’s Just One Problem.

Trump administration officials have been pressing the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design a $250 bill featuring the president's portrait. It would be the first time a living person appeared on US currency in more than 150 years.

The design is already done. Trump's face on the center. His signature at the bottom. The words "250 AMERICA" across the front. Trump reportedly loved it and suggested adding red, white, and blue.

There is just one small issue. Putting a living person on American currency has been illegal since 1866. The bureau's own director tried to explain the legal hurdles and was promptly reassigned from her position.

Currency experts say producing a new denomination takes six to eight years, requires extensive security testing, and needs Congressional approval that has not arrived. The bill to make it legal was introduced in Congress and has stalled.

  • US Treasurer Brandon Beach and his adviser Mike Brown pushed bureau staff for prototypes despite being told repeatedly it was not legal. The director who pushed back was reassigned last month. Her goodbye email sign-off read: "The buck stopped here." Best farewell line in government history.

  • Trump is already creeping onto US cash through other means. $100 bills bearing his signature are currently rolling off the presses in Washington right now. The $250 bill may be stalled but his name is already in your wallet.

  • No ATM supports a $250 bill. No bank is set up for it. The law does not exist yet. For now it’s a cool piece of paper that cannot be legally printed, spent, or deposited anywhere.

The Munch Take: The Trump administration designed a $250 bill, put the president's face on it, got told it was illegal, reassigned the person who said so, and kept going anyway. That is either the most American story of 2026 or a very creative way to redecorate the Treasury Department. The actual financial system has bigger problems right now. Oil is at $97. Iran is being bombed again. The national debt just crossed $37 trillion. But sure. Let us talk about the bill. My wife said we need a $250 bill because inflation is so bad it’s really the new $100. She’s completely spot on.

THE MARKET WATCH

πŸ›οΈ Nancy Pelosi's Portfolio Is Better Than Yours

Nancy Pelosi is 86 years old, has spent decades in Congress making laws about the same companies she invests in, and her portfolio reads like a greatest hits album of every stock that has skyrocketed over the last ten years.

Her reported holdings include:

  • $AAPL β€” Apple: $25M to $50M

  • $GOOGL β€” Alphabet: $5M to $25M

  • $AMZN β€” Amazon: $5M to $25M

  • $MSFT β€” Microsoft: $5M to $25M

  • $NVDA β€” Nvidia: $5M to $25M

  • $DIS β€” Disney: $1M to $5M

  • $V β€” Visa: $1M to $5M

  • $PANW β€” Palo Alto Networks: $1M to $5M

  • $NFLX β€” Netflix: $1M to $5M

  • $CRWD β€” CrowdStrike: $1M to $5M

  • $AVGO β€” Broadcom: $1M to $5M in call options

  • $AXP β€” American Express: $1M to $5M

  • $AB β€” AllianceBernstein: $1M to $5M

This is not a diversified retirement portfolio. This is a masterclass in owning exactly the right companies at exactly the right time, repeatedly, for decades.

  • Pelosi's disclosed portfolio sits somewhere between $50 million and $200 million depending on which range estimates you use. For someone on a congressional salary, that is a remarkable outcome.

  • She has beaten the S&P 500 in multiple years running. A tracker called the Nancy Pelosi ETF was created specifically to copy her trades. It has outperformed most professional fund managers.

  • Congress has debated banning stock trading for members more than twenty times. It has never passed. Every single time. Never passed. Make of that what you will.

The Munch Take: Nancy Pelosi is not hiding anything. Every trade is disclosed publicly, and anyone can follow along in real time. People do. There is literally an ETF built around tracking congressional trades. The real debate is not whether it’s legal. It’s whether lawmakers shaping policies around tech, AI, and defense should also be allowed to actively invest in those same industries. At this point, some investors are spending less time researching stocks and more time watching congressional disclosures.
